My buddy turned me on to the site pulltheplug.org. It is a very interesting site. They have a wargames section that is very cool. It presents challenges where you have to write to code or exploit something to reach the next level. Three of us at work completed level 0 under the Vortex section. I did it in C#, Eve completed it in C, and Mike finished it using PYTHON. Here is the challenge copied directly from the site:

“Your goal is to connect to port 5842 on vortex.labs.pulltheplug.org and read in 4 unsigned integers. Add these integers together and send back the results to get a username and password for level 1. Note that vortex is on an x86 machine (meaning, a little endian architecture).”

Sound easy? Try it then!

Julie is always asking me for computer help. So I decided to implement a ticketing system for her to go through. She will now have to send in a ticket to the mluker help desk. I think it is s great idea.

Here are some of the questions she has had me help her with.

  • How do I write protect a word document?
  • Why wont my iPod load?
  • Where is the “R” drive?
  • Can my car play an iPod?
  • How do I use photoshop?

Usually all of the questions boil down to “Can you just do it for me?”

There is nothing like a loving father sending his little girl down a 140 degree metal slide against her will. Not only can she obtain metal burns but she also gets to experience “crapped pants”. I mean, look how scared she is! Yes, this is Julie.

I was listening to the song “They don’t love you like I love you” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It made me think. Who are “They”, and why don’t they love me like she loves me? Also, who is she to judge how much “They” love me. She can’t possible know if “They” love me like she loves me. Honestly, who’s to say I even want “They” to love me? Especially like she does. Anyways, I don’t think it’s right for her to assume she can love me better than “They” can love me. I think she has self-esteem issues.

I quit this song, it’s making me feel un-loved.

I was thinking about getting a gift for Julie. I found this great doll. What do you think?

I am going to invent a projectile that can launched from your vehicle. It will be used to smash out the rear blinker of the car ahead of you. Heck, it can even be used to lob off open gas flaps if you want. I cant stand it when people leave their blinker on for 48 miles and I am left to wonder if they are going to change lanes and smash into me. I guess I have the option of smashing the gas and passing them at 90mph. But this leaves the window open for them to smash me at 90mph rather then 60mph. This is where my invention comes in handy. Launch the device and smash the light. This will put an end to the offending drivers havok they are reaping on the roadway. I like it. I want it.

P.S. Hey 80 year old man driving next to me, do you realize if your airbag goes off its going to blow you out the back window? Relax a little, sit back in your seat.

In preparation of our baby’s birth, we had to get a new vehicle that was more baby friendly. We decided on the new Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. The PT Cruiser was not cutting it. It was WAY too small. Anyone in the market for a generously loaded and moderately priced SUV might want to consider a Santa Fe. They handle very nicely and have a smooth ride. We are very satisfied so far except for an alarm issue that we are having. After that is sorted out, I will be 100% satisfied. We even thought ahead and got the backseat entertainment center for our daughter. Now all we have to do is wait 2 years so she can use it. I guess I could hook the Wii up to it……

There are currently 32 guesses in the baby pool! That is awesome. I am getting a kick out of reading the values in the column “Who am I”. This column is supposed to be used for descriptions like: “Matts Brother”, or “Julies Aunt”. You know, so we can figure out who submitted the guess. But here are some of the things people have entered.

  • I have to work with Julie
  • Pro Knifer
  • Matt and Julie’s Mii’s wander over to play on my Wii
  • father of julie…had no choice with matt
  • Straight up Hacking Homie
  • Julie sold me some crap on eBay

As you can see, there is so much love in the air. Especially this one

“father of julie…had no choice with matt

I wonder if my wife would like a new gaming keyboard for Valentines day. And if she did like it, I wonder if she would let me use it. Maybe even all the time.
